Founded as a lockdown project by Richard Trussell, an ex-IT professional and qualified electronics engineer, and Rob Osbourne, a former publisher, filmmaker, and DJ, Network Acoustics emerged when both founders were dissatisfied with their music streaming systems' sonic results. Trussell's breakthrough came when he discovered that better-quality ethernet cables could improve sound quality, leading him to investigate why digital signals could be affected by electrical noise. The company specializes in ethernet filters that remove electrical noise from network signals before reaching audio equipment. Their flagship ENO (now ENO2) ethernet filter, a purely passive device that doesn't modify data streams, addresses the fact that ethernet signals are actually analogue waveforms susceptible to RF interference from wi-fi, mobile phones, and TVs. The ENO Streaming System won a prestigious BEST OF 2020 award from The Ear magazine. Products include the original ENO (£995), ENO2 housed in optimized machined aluminum (£995-£1,395), and the higher-end Muon Pro. All products are engineered, handcrafted, and tested in the UK, with each unit compared against original development units. Network Acoustics has successfully established itself in the audiophile streaming market by addressing electrical noise in ethernet connections affecting audio quality.
