JICO Introduces Clipper MM Cartridge: Expanding into Moving Magnet Market

Compatibility is a significant aspect of the Clipper MM. It's designed to work seamlessly with JICO's own N44-7 and N44G replacement styli, as well as the exclusive CRCP/MK1 stylus. Additionally, it accommodates a wide range of Shure 44-series needles, including the Nude Diamond (ND), Synthetic Diamond (SD), MORITA Wood Cantilever, and SAS models. Even vintage Shure styli can be paired with this cartridge, offering unprecedented flexibility for those looking to fine-tune their vinyl experience.

At the heart of the Clipper MM is JICO's first-ever Tapered S-Cantilever, inspired by designs from Audio Empire and Swing needles. This conical aluminum cantilever reduces mass at the tip, allowing for more precise transmission of stylus vibrations. After extensive testing, JICO opted for a solid natural diamond conical tip, known for its smooth sound reproduction and excellent tracking ability.

The cartridge body is crafted from glossy black UVCRM resin, a material chosen for its durability and longevity. This not only ensures the Clipper MM can withstand regular use but also gives it a premium look that complements any turntable setup.

In terms of performance, the JICO Clipper MM boasts a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, delivering a full spectrum of sound. Output voltage ranges from 5.0mV to 8.0mV, providing a strong signal suitable for various phono preamps. Channel separation reaches up to 20dB, enhancing stereo imaging and clarity. The recommended tracking force is 2.0 ± 0.2 grams, and the cartridge, including the headshell, weighs approximately 16.7 grams.
