The Pioneer SF-500 is an electronic crossover network that was produced between 1971 and 1972 in Japan. It features a sleek silver finish and operates at a low power consumption of just 3 watts. With dimensions of 200 mm in width, 115 mm in height, and 254 mm in depth, it weighs approximately 2.1 kg. The SF-500 was initially priced around 10,900 Yen in Japan in 1971 and about 160 DM. It offers a single input line with an impedance of 100kOhm and a frequency of 1 kHz, along with three output channels for low, mid, and high frequencies, each outputting 2 V. Technical specifications include a distortion factor of 0.3% and a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 75 dB. The crossover frequencies are adjustable for 3-channel operation at 600 Hz for LOW-MID and 5 kHz for MID-HIGH, or for 2-channel operation at 600 Hz for LOW and 5 kHz for HIGH. Additionally, it includes selectable slope options of 12 dB per octave. A notable feature is the capability for 2- or 3-channel operation, which can be configured using a corresponding plug-in on the rear panel.
