Founded in 1972 by Jean Constant Verdier (1938-2014) under 'Laboratoires Verdier,' JC Verdier is a French high-end audio manufacturer specializing in turntables and vacuum tube amplifiers. The revolutionary 'La Platine Verdier' turntable, introduced in 1980, pioneered magnetic levitation technology using repulsive magnets for a friction-free bearing system, featuring an 18kg aluminum platter and unique motor drive. In continuous production for over 40 years with minimal changes, more than 2,000 units have been sold worldwide. After Jean's passing in 2014, the family business continued with his wife handling commercial matters and son Eric Verdier managing technical aspects. Recently acquired by Heinz Lichtenegger (CEO of Audio Tuning Austria and Pro-Ject), the company represents French audio engineering excellence in the high-fidelity turntable market, maintaining traditional craftsmanship while serving audiophiles globally.
