Founded in 1972 by Paul Barton in Pickering, Ontario, PSB Speakers began when Barton, a musician and electronics enthusiast, started producing speaker kits that became so popular he had to recruit friends to help meet demand. Named after Paul and his wife Sue Barton, PSB pioneered "The Canadian Sound" with a philosophy of true-to-nature, transparent, and non-fatiguing audio reproduction. Under Paul Barton's leadership as founder and chief designer, the company spent decades researching speakers in anechoic chambers at Canada's National Research Council in Ottawa, developing scientifically-based designs rooted in psychoacoustics principles. Now part of the Lenbrook Group of Companies alongside NAD Electronics and Bluesound, PSB operates from its headquarters in Pickering, Ontario, and has grown into one of Canada's leading manufacturers of premium loudspeakers, headphones, and home audio systems. The company's products are sold in more than 70 countries worldwide, maintaining its reputation for value-driven speaker design that sets the standard for true-to-nature sound reproduction across music halls, home theaters, and audiophile applications globally.
