The Revox A 78 is an integrated amplifier produced in Switzerland, available in two models: A 78 MK I and A 78 MK II. The A 78 MK I was manufactured from 1971 to 1974, while the A 78 MK II was produced from 1974 to 1978. Both models sport a sleek silver or grey finish and utilize a remote control for convenience. With a power consumption of 520 W, the amplifier measures 415 mm in width, 160 mm in height, and 245 mm in depth, weighing approximately 8.2 kg. In terms of connectivity, it offers a variety of inputs, including options for phono MM and crystal, microphone, tuner, aux, and multiple tape play inputs. The output options include tape rec and headphone jacks, accommodating two pairs of loudspeakers. Technically, it delivers continuous power of 80 watts for 8-ohm loads and 100 watts for 4-ohm loads, with dynamic power reaching 140 watts and 160 watts respectively. The amplifier has excellent performance characteristics, featuring a frequency response of 20-20,000 Hz, intermodulation distortion of less than 0.3%, and a damping factor greater than 20. It includes tone control with bass and treble adjustments of ±12 dB, as well as presence and bass/treble filters.
