ReVox (stylized as REVOX) was founded in 1948 by Willi Studer in Switzerland, with the brand name registered by Studer on March 27, 1951. The company initially focused on manufacturing reel-to-reel tape recorders of the highest quality. Revox Deutschland GmbH operates production facilities in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany (15 Am Krebsgraben, 78048 Villingen-Schwenningen), while headquarters remain in Regensdorf near Zurich, Switzerland. In late 2024, Revox acquired Horch House, a specialist in analog master tape production, with Volker Lange leading the newly established analog division. The company employs around 150 people across locations in Dietikon (Switzerland), Villingen-Schwenningen (Germany), Salzburg (Austria), and Brooklyn (USA). Revox operates one of the largest cassette production plants in Europe with their motto 'Made in Germany.'
