The Sansui XL-500 is a 4-way loudspeaker system manufactured between 1985 and 1988. It features a total of five drivers, including two 306 mm cone woofers, a 120 mm cone midrange driver, and both a 30 mm and a 25 mm dome tweeter. With a nominal power handling of 160 Watts and a peak capacity of 320 Watts, the XL-500 is capable of delivering a wide dynamic range. Its efficiency is rated at 90 dB/W/m, making it relatively efficient for its size. The frequency response spans an impressive range from 27 Hz to 40,000 Hz, allowing it to reproduce both deep bass and high frequencies with clarity. Transitional ranges for the various drivers are set at 1,500 Hz, 4,000 Hz, and 16,000 Hz, which helps in creating a cohesive soundstage. The speaker is designed with an 8 Ohm impedance and includes level controls for mid- and high-frequency adjustments.
