The Sanyo Plus D-45 is a stereo cassette deck that was manufactured from 1979 to 1983 in Japan. It features a sleek silver finish and has a front-loading orientation. The deck supports 4 track / 2 channel audio, utilizing a dual-head design that includes capabilities for various tape types, including normal, chrome, ferro-chrome, and metal tapes. The D-45 is equipped with several technical features, including Dolby-B noise reduction to enhance sound quality and an MPX filter. It includes two mono microphone inputs and offers RCA input/output connectors as well as a headphone output. The display comprises a 3-digit mechanical counter alongside digital peak-reading meters, which feature peak hold functionality. The operation is made convenient with options for timer recording and playback, mechanical tape loading, and a belt drive tape transport mechanism. Users can manually select the type of tape being used and have individual controls for microphone inputs, as well as overall output level control. The D-45 operates at a speed of 1⅞ ips (4.76 cm/s) and features an auto shutoff mechanism for convenience.
