Sonofer

Sonofer was a German high-end speaker manufacturer that emerged in the early 1990s, founded by former Braun employees who continued the design and quality traditions of the legendary German Braun brand for discerning home audio listeners. The company produced premium loudspeakers including models SF 2.1, SF3.1, SF4, and the flagship Sonofer 9.1 prototype, featuring four-way construction with transducers having extremely high resistance to overloads. Positioned as a noble German manufacture with products ranked higher than Canton speakers, Sonofer represented the continuation of German engineering excellence after the original Braun audio division. The company appears to have ceased operations, with only vintage models now available through used audio equipment dealers and German marketplace platforms, representing another example of boutique German audio manufacturers that couldn't sustain long-term operations despite producing technically sophisticated products for the audiophile market.
