Founded in 2009 by Igor Gligorov in Belgrade, Serbia, Soulines emerged from the passion of a trained cellist turned mechanical engineer who decided to transform his lifelong love of music into a high-end turntable manufacturing business. Under the leadership of founder and designer Igor Gligorov, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and trained as a cellist at Belgrade's music schools from age 5, the company has established itself as a respected manufacturer of precision turntables and tonearms that combine mathematical principles with musical sensibility. Based in Belgrade and shipping globally, Soulines approaches turntable design like a luthier crafting musical instruments, with each product incorporating perfect vibration control and weight distribution calculated according to the Fibonacci Suite and Golden Ratio to ensure uniform damping and reduced moment of inertia. The company's product lineup includes the award-winning TT9 (£3,990), Kubrick DCX (£6,490), flagship TT42 ($14,500), plus models named after composers and cultural figures including Elgar, Satie, Dostoyevsky, and Hermes, alongside the KiVi M3 Unipivot Tonearm (£2,090) and vibration control accessories like BBS feet and U-Base isolation platforms. Each turntable is 100% handmade in Serbia with wonderful craftsmanship, individually machined rather than batch-produced, with all aluminum parts CNC-machined from solid blocks and every unit hand-finished and assembled by one individual. Soulines gained international recognition after winning 'The Best Sound Award' at the Belgrade Hi-Fi show in 2010 with their debut Hermes DCX model, and now exports to nearly every corner of the globe through distributors including Sound Fowndations in the UK and Adirondack Audio in New York. Operating with a philosophy that emphasizes local community support and international cooperation, Soulines continues to represent Serbian engineering excellence in the high-end audio market while maintaining their commitment to mathematical precision and musical authenticity.
