The Spendor BC1 MK3 is a three-way bass reflex loudspeaker that comes from a lineage deeply rooted in audio engineering, often associated with studio monitor applications. Designed with dimensions of 640 mm in height, 300 mm in width, and 300 mm in depth, the speaker is typically crafted in black wood or oak finishes. The BC1 MK3 features a super tweeter (25 mm) from Viva, a 38 mm high-frequency driver from Scan Speak, and a 200 mm mid-bass driver made of Bextrene for robust sound performance. It operates with a nominal power handling of 50 watts, with peak music power reaching up to 125 watts. The speaker showcases a sensitivity of 84 dB (1W at 1m) and delivers sound across a frequency range from 30 Hz to 20 kHz with an impressive frequency response of ±3 dB from 48 Hz to 20 kHz. This model supports tri-wiring and tri-amping configurations, allowing for tailored audio setups. Each pair is equipped with replaceable high-frequency fuses and includes a protective cover. The BC1 MK3 is noted for its ability to produce a coherent stereo image and articulate high frequencies, making it suitable for both casual listening and professional monitoring environments. Unlike earlier versions, this model emphasizes compatibility with standard domestic settings, ensuring that its acoustic characteristics adapt well to typical room acoustics.
