The Technics SL-1710 is a direct drive record player produced by Technics from 1976 to 1978 in Japan. Constructed with an anthracite finish, the SL-1710 features a brushless DC motor and operates at speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 rpm. Its semi-automatic operation allows for a convenient tonearm return after playback. The turntable is made of aluminium injection moulding with a diameter of 330 mm. The effective tonearm mass is 16 g, supported by an S-tube arm design, which has an effective arm length of 230 mm and a 15 mm overhang. Additionally, the pitch can be adjusted by ±5%. It is equipped with a Technics EPC-270 C-II cartridge and allows for the weight range for the pickup to be between 5 to 11 g. The SL-1710 has dimensions of 453 x 139 x 366 mm and weighs 8.8 kg. For connectivity, it features two RCA outputs (red/white). The device includes construction with a subchassis and employs a 1-chip engine control using the Panasonic AN630 chip.
