The Technics SL-P50P is a compact disc player manufactured by Technics from 1984 to 1985 in Japan. It was produced in two color variations, black and gray-silver. With a power consumption of 85 W, the unit measures 430 mm in width, 200 mm in height, and 530 mm in depth, and weighs 18 kg. Originally priced around 800,000 Yen in Japan and approximately 11,900 DM, the SL-P50P offers a range of features including auto play, title programming for up to 20 titles, and repeat functionality. It plays CD-R, CD-RW, and HDCD formats. The device utilizes a 16-bit converter, with a frequency response ranging from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz (±0.5 dB), a dynamic range greater than 96 dB, and a distortion factor of 0.005%. Notably, it does not support CD-Text or MP3 formats and offers ± 8% pitch control. The player includes a 6.3 mm headphone output and features a rotary disc with both fast and slow seek capabilities. The SL-P50P does not have a built-in remote control and lacks shuffle functionality. It is part of a series that includes other models such as the SL-P1200 and SL-P1300.
