It features a sleek black design and provides a range of functionalities aimed at enhancing the user experience. This model includes an infrared remote control with a detachable receiver, allowing for convenient operation from a distance. Its power consumption is rated at 3 watts when connected to the mains and 0.5 watts during battery operation. The compact dimensions of 128 mm in width, 17.5 mm in height, and 128 mm in depth make it lightweight, weighing 302 grams without batteries and 346 grams with an optional battery pack. This unit was priced approximately at 799 DM at launch. The output capabilities include a line output (1V/50 kOhm, 3.5 mm jack) and a headphone output (2 x 15 mW, 3.5 mm jack). The audio processing is handled through a MASH digital-to-analog converter, boasting a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (+0.5/-1.5 dB). Other performance metrics include a dynamic range of 96 dB, signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB, and a very low total harmonic distortion. The player does not support CD-Text or MP3 playback but offers features such as automatic track selection, shuffle play, and the ability to program up to 24 titles for playback. Moreover, it supports CD-R, CD-RW, and HDCD formats. Notable enhancements include S-XBS (switchable bass boost) and a selectable 'Live' effect to enrich the listening experience.
