The Technics ST-G90 is an FM/AM tuner that incorporates advanced technology for enhanced reception and audio quality. It features twin RF and IF automatic switching functions, utilizing a 4-pole MOS FET for the RF amplifier along with an FET buffer in the local oscillator. The tuner is designed with both normal and super narrow twin RF circuits, allowing for automatic switching via an 8-bit microcomputer, maintaining optimal reception conditions. This improves RF intermodulation spurious response by approximately 20 dB at 1 MHz when compared to conventional systems. Additionally, it has a twin circuit in the IF section that auto-detects adjacent channel interference, switching bands to maximize performance. The ST-G90 also includes a range of user-friendly functions such as auto-scan tuning, a quartz trek level check function, and a display that shows FM signal intensity in 2 dB steps, capable of reaching up to 86 dB. Frequency characteristics are notably accurate, with a frequency range from 4 Hz to 18 kHz (+0.2 - 0.5 dB), and it employs a DC configuration for superior frequency response stability. The unit measures 430 x 93.5 x 282 mm and weighs 3.1 kg. It operates at 100 VAC with a power consumption of 9.0W.
