Founded in 2000 by Tom DeVesto and legendary audio engineer Henry Kloss in Massachusetts, Tivoli Audio emerged with one purpose: to bring beautifully designed, simple-to-use, high-quality audio products to consumers at a fair price. DeVesto, a serial entrepreneur with over 40 years in audio and founder of Cambridge SoundWorks, partnered with Kloss to create their first product, the Model One radio, designed to receive FM signals in congested urban locations and distant stations. The company re-popularized listening to AM/FM radio as home audio entertainment, evolving radio design from mono black cabinets to rich techno-colors housed in furniture-grade wood cabinets. After Kloss passed away in 2002, the company continued expanding globally, selling products in over 30 countries by 2006. Following ownership changes through Summit Associates and then Serruya Private Equity (a Toronto-based firm led by Michael Serruya), Tivoli Audio opened a flagship Boston showroom on Newbury Street in 2019. Now led by CEO Paul DePasquale and Chairman Michael Serruya, the company continues its mission of creating design-driven, high-quality audio products while maintaining its Boston headquarters and global distribution network.
