DeVesto, a serial entrepreneur with over 40 years in audio and founder of Cambridge SoundWorks, partnered with Kloss to create their first product, the Model One radio, designed to receive FM signals in congested urban locations and distant stations. The company re-popularized listening to AM/FM radio as home audio entertainment, evolving radio design from mono black cabinets to rich techno-colors housed in furniture-grade wood cabinets. After Kloss passed away in 2002, the company continued expanding globally, selling products in over 30 countries by 2006. Following ownership changes through Summit Associates and then Serruya Private Equity (a Toronto-based firm led by Michael Serruya), Tivoli Audio opened a flagship Boston showroom on Newbury Street in 2019.
