Founded in 1947 by Takeo Yamamoto in Osaka, Japan, Yamazen Corporation evolved from humble beginnings as Osaka Tool Manufacturing Co., Ltd. into a global "double-winged" specialized trading company. Starting as a cutting tool business when founder Yamamoto struck out on his own at age 22, the company has grown into an international operation with over 100 locations across 14 countries. Under current leadership of Representative Director Kimihisa Sasaki and Executive Officer Masamichi Yamazoe (CIO & CFO), Yamazen operates two major business segments: Production Equipment (60% of sales) including machine tools, industrial equipment, cutting tools, and mechatronics; and Consumer Products including home appliances, HVAC equipment, cooking equipment, healthcare devices, and interior goods. The company employs approximately 3,276 people globally, with 40% active overseas, maintaining headquarters in Osaka while operating subsidiaries across Europe, Asia, and North America. Since establishing their first overseas office in Chicago in 1963, Yamazen has expanded internationally to serve manufacturing industries and consumers alike. The company transcends traditional frameworks by creating value through both production equipment that supports manufacturing processes and consumer goods that enrich everyday living, distributing products to home centers, electrical retailers, supermarkets, and mail-order operations while maintaining their commitment to innovation and global expansion in the specialized trading industry.
