Burmester Audiosysteme GmbH is a German manufacturer of high-end audio components founded in 1977 by Austrian-born musician and engineer Dieter Burmester (1946-2015) in Berlin-Schöneberg. As the last independent manufacturer in the industry, Burmester produces handcrafted high-end audio systems including home audio components (preamplifiers, power amplifiers, turntables, CD players, loudspeakers) and automotive sound systems for luxury car brands like Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Ferrari, and Bugatti. The company is known for its distinctive chrome design and PURE SOUND philosophy, focusing on authentic, unfiltered musical reproduction. After Dieter Burmester's death in 2015, the company continues under the leadership of joint CEOs Thorsten Poenig and Thomas Schneider as of 2024.
