EPOS represents two distinct audio companies. The enterprise-focused EPOS Audio was established from the former successful joint venture between Sennheiser and Danish hearing technology group Demant. Fully owned by Demant Group and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, EPOS builds on over 115 years of audio expertise and operates in more than 60 countries. In 2024, EPOS exited the gaming headphone business to focus exclusively on enterprise communications products including headsets and speakerphones. Separately, Epos Ltd is a British loudspeaker company founded in 1983 by Robin Marshall, specializing in hi-fi speakers. After ownership changes through Mordaunt-Short and Creek Audio, it was acquired in 2020 by Karl-Heinz Fink, founder of German speaker designer firm FinkTeam, and now operates from both Germany and the UK with plans for new speaker introductions.
