Founded in 1987 by woodcrafter and hi-fi enthusiast Dominique Giner in Toulouse, France, Métronome Technologie began with loudspeakers, initially selling 800 sets, before officially transitioning to CD players developed in partnership with French company Jadis. The company name derives from Giner's first bookshelf loudspeaker, the MT1, shaped like a metronome. After remaining small for years, Métronome gained global notoriety in 2002 with the eye-catching 'Kalista by Métronome' CD transport. In 2013, Giner sold the company to Jean Marie Clauzel, who retained the engineering team after Giner retired as product designer in 2015. For over 30 years, Métronome has designed and manufactured high-end CD players, SACD players, digital-to-analog converters, and audiophile streamers, all renowned for exceptional musicality and '100% MADE IN FRANCE' craftsmanship. Operating under two brands (Métronome and Kalista), the company has established itself as a global reference in the audiophile world, serving discerning listeners who demand uncompromised digital music reproduction from their Toulouse facility.
