Audioscenic, Philips, and NXP Semiconductors introduce a next-gen spatial soundbar for gamers featuring Amphi Hi-D® spatial audio and Philips’ BeClear AEC for immersive surround sound with clear voice communication.
Powered by NXP’s i.MX 8M Mini processor, the soundbar enables real-time 3D audio positioning and echo cancellation, using AI-driven position sensing and beamforming for consistent sound as users move.
Philips BeClear technology ensures game audio doesn’t disrupt voice chats, providing clear teammate communication alongside immersive audio.
Audioscenic, in collaboration with Philips and NXP Semiconductors, has unveiled a groundbreaking reference design for a next-generation spatial soundbar tailored for gamers. This innovative soundbar integrates the Amphi Hi-D® spatial audio system with Philips’ BeClear Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) technology, creating an unparalleled audio experience that combines immersive surround sound with crystal-clear voice communication.
At the heart of this advancement is the NXP i.MX 8M Mini application processor, featuring a Quad Arm Cortex-A53 running at 1.8GHz per core and supporting 8-channel PDM audio input. This powerful setup enables real-time processing of both the 3D audio positioning and echo cancellation, ensuring that game audio remains immersive without interfering with voice chats. The Amphi Hi-D® system employs AI-driven position sensing and beamforming technology to dynamically adjust audio signals across multiple speakers, maintaining consistent 3D sound as users move within their gaming environment.
The collaboration showcases how Philips BeClear technology effectively cancels out game audio from being picked up by the microphones, a critical feature for maintaining clear communication during intense multiplayer sessions. This seamless integration allows gamers to enjoy rich, location-accurate soundscapes while communicating effortlessly with teammates, eliminating the common trade-off between immersive audio and voice clarity.
Currently a reference design, Audioscenic aims to inspire soundbar manufacturers to adopt its 3D spatial audio technology in future products. The prototype is being demonstrated at Computex Taipei 2025, where industry professionals can experience firsthand the capabilities of this advanced soundbar. According to Marcos Simon, CTO and Co-Founder of Audioscenic, this technology represents a significant leap forward, providing an immersive audio experience without compromising on voice clarity.
As the demand for high-quality gaming audio solutions continues to grow, Audioscenic’s innovative approach sets a new standard for what soundbars can achieve. By combining cutting-edge spatial audio with robust echo cancellation, this reference design paves the way for the next generation of gaming soundbars that deliver both depth and clarity, enhancing the overall gaming experience for enthusiasts around the world.
