Bang & Olufsen Unveils Atelier Program for Ultimate Product Customization

11 February 2025 by Mike Danyk

Bang & Olufsen has taken personalization to a new level with the launch of their Atelier program, allowing enthusiasts to create bespoke versions of their products. Known for their distinctive design and exceptional sound quality, Bang & Olufsen is now offering unprecedented customization options that cater to individual tastes and preferences.

The Atelier program provides three avenues for personalization:

Atelier Bespoke: This option lets customers collaborate directly with master artisans in Struer, Denmark, to craft a one-of-a-kind creation. It's an opportunity to incorporate unique materials or specific colors, resulting in a truly personalized piece.

Atelier Catalogue: For those looking for extensive customization without starting from scratch, this catalog offers over 500,000 possible combinations of fabrics, woods, and aluminum finishes. Using the new Digital Composer tool, customers can design their own Bang & Olufsen product from a vast array of options.

Atelier Editions: Showcasing the brand's finest craftsmanship, these are limited editions of iconic products. Each edition is available in exclusive designs, providing a blend of uniqueness and Bang & Olufsen's signature style.

To exemplify what's possible with the Atelier program, Bang & Olufsen has introduced the Beosound 2 Gradient Collection. This collection features ten exclusive designs of the Beosound 2 Wireless Speaker, each inspired by the emotions of sound. With only ten numbered pieces per design, these speakers offer both rarity and personalization.

For those unfamiliar, the Beosound 2 is a 360-degree wireless speaker crafted from solid aluminum, now in its third generation. It supports Bluetooth, AirPlay, and Google Cast, providing versatile connectivity options. Two units can be paired for stereo playback, and with Bang & Olufsen's Beolink technology, it seamlessly integrates into multi-room setups or connects wirelessly with Beosound soundbars or Beovision TVs. Its elegant design allows it to be placed on the floor or on low furniture, making it a versatile addition to any room.

Pricing and Availability:

  • The Beosound 2 Gradient Collection will be available starting in March 2025, priced at $5,700 USD per speaker.
  • The standard Beosound 2 is available in Black Anthracite, Gold Tone, Natural, and Daybreak Blossom finishes for $3,500 USD.
  • The Ferrari Red Edition is available for $5,500 USD.

The full Atelier experience can be explored at select Bang & Olufsen stores, where customers can dive into customization options and work closely with artisans to bring their vision to life. The newly released Digital Composer tool also allows for personalization from the comfort of home.

Bang & Olufsen's move towards greater personalization reflects a growing demand for bespoke audio solutions. By combining their legacy of sound excellence with customizable design, they're offering a unique opportunity for individuals to express their personality through their audio equipment.
