Canton launches flagship Reference Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 with diamond-coated drivers and BCT technology for unparalleled clarity.
Extended frequency ranges (18 Hz–40,000 Hz for Alpha 1, 19 Hz–40,000 Hz for Alpha 2) deliver immersive and distortion-free sound.
Affordable Reference 5 GS Edition rivals higher-priced competitors, featuring diamond-coated tweeters and premium connectivity.
Canton has officially launched the highly anticipated Reference Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 stand-mounted speakers, debuting at High End 2025. These flagship models, initially presented last year, have finally hit the market following recent refinements. Building on the foundation of the Reference series, both Alpha models incorporate advanced technologies, including diamond-coated high-frequency drivers, enhancing their acoustic performance without significantly increasing their price point.
The Reference Alpha series integrates Canton’s innovative Black Ceramic Tungsten (BCT) membranes, now extended to the midrange drivers in both Alpha 1 and Alpha 2. This extension, combined with the existing aluminum-wolfram-ceramic tweeters, ensures exceptional rigidity and minimal distortion across a wide frequency range of 18 Hz to 40,000 Hz for the Alpha 1 and 19 Hz to 40,000 Hz for the Alpha 2. The use of diamond coatings on both the high and midrange drivers results in unparalleled clarity and precision, delivering a natural and immersive listening experience.
In addition to the flagship models, Canton introduces the Reference 5 GS Edition, a more accessible option featuring the same diamond-coated tweeters as the Alpha series. Priced competitively at €9,600 for the standard finish and €10,500 for the genuine wood veneer version, the Reference 5 GS offers high-end performance typically reserved for models priced significantly higher, such as the nearest competitor from Bowers & Wilkins, which retails at €16,500. The GS Edition also boasts enhanced signal pathways with high-quality Mundorf capacitors and gold-plated WBT-nextgen connectors, ensuring superior connectivity and sound integrity.
Both the Reference Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 are available in sophisticated color options including Midnight Blue and Warm Grey, maintaining the aesthetic elegance of the series with their side walnut wood panels. Technical features such as multiple gold-plated bridge connections on the back allow precise tuning to match different room acoustics and personal preferences, facilitated by Room Compensation (RC) technology. Additionally, the speakers are equipped with Wave-Sicke 3.0 technology for consistent motion even at high volumes, ensuring dynamic and accurate sound reproduction.
With their robust construction, cutting-edge materials, and meticulous engineering, the Canton Reference Alpha series and the new GS Edition set a new benchmark in the high-end audio market. Available now through authorized dealers, these speakers promise to deliver an extraordinary auditory experience for discerning audiophiles seeking both performance and aesthetic refinement in their home audio setups.
