Ferrum Audio celebrated its 5th anniversary by unveiling the WANDLA 2.0.0 firmware with Ferrum Streaming Control Technology (FSCT).
FSCT enables WANDLA users to control streamers via remote, view real-time playback info, and supports diverse setups like headphone amps, active speakers, and stereo systems.
The firmware update offers a refreshed interface, intuitive usability, and broad platform compatibility (macOS, Windows, Volumio OS).
Ferrum Audio marked its fifth anniversary at the 2025 High End Munich, coinciding with the event's closure of a significant chapter in Munich's audio history. Celebrating this milestone, Ferrum unveiled the major update to its renowned WANDLA series of digital-to-analog converters (DACs), introducing the WANDLA 2.0.0 firmware.
Central to this launch is the new Ferrum Streaming Control Technology (FSCT), a proprietary platform that enhances the WANDLA family’s functionality and user experience. With FSCT, users can seamlessly control their streamers using the WANDLA remote, while real-time display of artist, track, and playback information is now available on the device’s touchscreen. This integration ensures a more intuitive and versatile system, whether integrated with Ferrum’s headphone amplifier (WANDLA HP), active speakers, or traditional stereo setups.
The firmware upgrade process is straightforward, utilizing the Ferrum Control App compatible with both PC and Mac. The update not only brings aesthetic improvements to the user interface but also enhances usability, making advanced functions more accessible and natural to operate. Additionally, FSCT offers broad compatibility across platforms, including macOS, Windows, and Volumio OS, eliminating the need for extra configurations.
Designed to cater to diverse listening environments, the updated FSCT provides a consistent, high-quality experience for all users. The new visual display boasts optimized readability from various distances, featuring refined typography and layout that emphasize clarity and elegance. This ensures that information about the current audio track is easily accessible whether viewed up close or from across the room.
Ferrum Audio demonstrated the capabilities of the WANDLA 2.0.0 firmware live at High End Munich 2025, where attendees experienced firsthand the next generation of digital audio control. The firmware update will be made available to all existing WANDLA users free of charge shortly after the event, allowing them to benefit from the enhanced features and improved user experience.
