At the recent High End Munich Show, audio enthusiasts were treated to a standout experience beyond the typical showcase of six-figure stereo systems. The Klipsch kO-R1 Limited Edition loudspeakers took center stage at exclusive listening sessions hosted by OJAS at RubenBenjamin Studio in Munich. Scheduled for May 16 and 17, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM each day, these sessions offered a rare opportunity to explore the finely crafted speakers in an environment that celebrates Munich’s vibrant culture and nightlife.
The kO-R1 Limited Edition is a testament to the collaboration between Klipsch and Devon Turnbull of OJAS, blending minimalist design with bespoke craftsmanship. Inspired by the Klipsch Heresy, the speakers feature a multicell design and an enclosure made from 13-ply Grade A Baltic Birch Plywood, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and superior acoustics. The exposed biradial horn, crafted from sand-cast aluminum, exemplifies Klipsch’s 75-year legacy in horn technology, delivering clear and powerful sound without sacrificing style.
Technical aficionados will appreciate the kO-R1’s impressive specifications, including a 2-way bookshelf/stand-mounted configuration, a frequency response of 51 Hz to 20 kHz, and a power handling capacity of 200W. With a maximum SPL continuous output of 117dB and a sensitivity of 97.5 dB @ 2.83V, these speakers are designed to provide an immersive listening experience. Additional features such as adjustable horn mounts, anodized aluminum binding posts, and anti-vibration rubber feet enhance both functionality and performance, while the five-step high-frequency gain attenuator allows for precise sound tuning.
Each pair of the limited edition kO-R1 speakers is available in two finishes: Spiral Red Oak and Pewter Grey, and comes with the Klipsch K-12 speaker stand for optimal presentation. Priced at $8,498 per pair, these speakers are accessible through the OJAS store and select authorized Klipsch retailers, including Commonwave and IQ Home Entertainment. Additionally, each purchase includes a hardbound book detailing the inspiration and craftsmanship behind the kO-R1, offering a deeper appreciation for this exquisite audio creation.
The exclusive listening sessions culminate on May 17 with the Suntory Highball Social Hour, providing attendees with the perfect blend of exceptional sound and fine spirits. Located at Falkenstraße 7A, 81541 München, RubenBenjamin Studio served as the ideal venue for this unique event, allowing guests to enjoy the kO-R1’s superior sound quality in a setting that highlights both art and audio excellence. With space limited, enthusiasts were encouraged to arrive early to secure their place in experiencing these remarkable loudspeakers.
