Masimo Consumer has rolled out HEOS Update 36, enhancing the streaming ecosystem with several noteworthy improvements tailored for audiophiles. A standout feature of this update is the integration of Roon support across a range of Denon and Marantz devices, enabling seamless high-resolution audio streaming and improved metadata management for a superior listening experience.
The update brings significant enhancements to playlist management, increasing the maximum number of songs in the queue from 300 to 1,000. This expansion allows for more extensive and personalized playlists, catering to diverse listening preferences. Additionally, users gain finer control during USB playback, with the ability to jump to specific points within tracks, ensuring precise navigation and uninterrupted enjoyment of their favorite music.
Technical advancements in HEOS Update 36 also address network connectivity and performance. The shift from SMB 1.0 to SMB 3.0 for network sharing ensures compatibility with modern NAS devices and Windows systems, enhancing reliability and security. Furthermore, the update improves playback speed, reducing content display times by over two seconds in certain scenarios, which translates to a more responsive and efficient user interface.
Supported devices receiving Roon integration include the Denon DNP-2000NE, Denon Home Wireless Speakers, Denon Home Amp, AVC-S670H, AVC-X3800H, DRA-900H, PMA-900HNE, as well as several Marantz models such as the SACD 30n, MODEL M1, MODEL M4, CD 50n, MODEL 60n, MODEL 40n, AV10, and STEREO 70S. These updates position the HEOS ecosystem as a robust choice for audiophiles seeking high-fidelity streaming with enhanced control and connectivity.
