Monitor Audio Unveils Vestra Series Subwoofers Delivering Advanced Bass Technology
Monitor Audio has unveiled the Vestra series, a new line of active subwoofers designed to deliver powerful and precise bass performance. Available in three sizes—W10, W12, and W15—and finished in matte white or black, the Vestra subwoofers seamlessly integrate into various audio setups. Developed in collaboration with the renowned Anthra Series, these subwoofers embody Monitor Audio’s Transparent Design Philosophy, ensuring a harmonious blend of exceptional design, user-friendly features, and advanced acoustic engineering.
At the heart of the Vestra series lies Monitor Audio’s proprietary C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Magnesium) cone technology. This innovative cone material offers enhanced strength and reduced fatigue, allowing for greater pistonic movement under extreme loads compared to standard aluminum cones. Complementing the C-CAM drivers are robust motor systems featuring triple suspension in the W12 and W15 models, improved venting, and large, round-wound voice coils made from high-purity copper wire. These components work together to provide superior control and precision at low frequencies, increased airflow to minimize heat buildup, and a highly linear BI curve, resulting in minimal distortion and consistent magnetic fields.
Powering the Vestra subwoofers are efficient Class D amplifiers tailored to each model. The W10 is equipped with a 250-watt amplifier, while the W12 and W15 boast 500-watt amplifiers, all optimized for their respective drivers and speaker systems. The integration of DSP with three preset modes allows for customization to suit different acoustic environments, and the inclusion of a 12 Volt trigger connection ensures versatile connectivity options. The meticulously crafted cabinets, made from 15mm thick reinforced MDF and finished with matt lacquered front baffles, are designed to minimize resonance and deliver pure, undistorted bass.
The Vestra W10 and W12 feature fully sealed enclosures, offering flexibility in placement and versatile integration into both stereo and AV systems. In contrast, the W15 utilizes a ported design to extend low-frequency performance, delivering deeper and more impactful bass. With prices starting at €750 for the W10, €900 for the W12, and €1,150 for the W15, the Vestra series provides a range of options to cater to different budget and performance needs. Available from May 2025, these subwoofers promise to enhance any audio setup with their combination of design elegance and sonic excellence.
