Piega introduces Premium 301 Gen2 bookshelf and Premium 701 Gen2 floorstanding speakers, blending luxurious design with advanced acoustics.
Features new RM 01-24 ribbon tweeters with dual magnets for enhanced high-frequency dynamics.
Aluminum-panel cabinets with wooden bracing and advanced damping materials elevate sound quality.
Piega has expanded its Premium Gen2 lineup with the introduction of two new passive models: the Premium 301 Gen2 bookshelf speaker and the Premium 701 Gen2 floorstanding speaker. Unveiled at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2025, these speakers showcase a blend of luxurious design and advanced acoustic engineering, aiming to cater to discerning audiophiles seeking both aesthetic appeal and high-fidelity sound.
Designed by Stefan Hürlemann, the Premium Gen2 cabinets are crafted from seamless aluminum panels complemented by an internal wooden bracing system that enhances acoustic performance. The removable grille features a subtle curvature, harmonizing with the overall cabinet design. Anodized aluminum variants boast a matte sandblasted finish, providing a sleek and cohesive look that distinguishes them from previous matte models.
Central to the Premium Gen2’s sonic performance are the newly developed RM 01-24 series ribbon tweeters, honoring their inventors Roger Kessler and Mario Ballabio. These symmetrical SSD drivers incorporate dual magnets on both sides of the high-quality foil diaphragm, delivering a more dynamic and responsive high-frequency reproduction compared to earlier iterations. Additionally, the integration of advanced damping materials, derived from Piega’s Coax series, within the aluminum enclosures achieves sound quality previously unattainable with traditional materials.
Technically, the Premium 301 Gen2 operates within a frequency range of 39 Hz to 50 kHz (±2 dB) and features a two-way design with a 140 mm FSD-M woofer and the RM 01-24 tweeter. It offers a sensitivity of 89 dB and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. The Premium 701 Gen2 floorstanding model extends the frequency range down to 34 Hz, utilizing a three-way configuration with dual 140 mm FSD drivers for low frequencies, a 140 mm FSD-M midrange driver, and the same ribbon tweeter. This model achieves a sensitivity of 90 dB and maintains a consistent nominal impedance.
Set to launch in the UK in Spring 2025, the Premium Gen2 series is available in anodized silver, black, and white lacquer finishes. Pricing for the Premium 301 Gen2 starts at £2,500 for the silver variant and £2,750 for black or white. The Premium 701 Gen2 is priced at £5,600 for silver and black, and £5,700 for the white lacquer version. These new additions solidify Piega’s commitment to delivering exceptional sound quality and elegant design in their high-end loudspeaker offerings.
