Signify expands its smart lighting portfolio with the introduction of the WiZ HDMI Sync Box, positioning itself as a cost-effective alternative to its Philips Hue counterpart. Designed to synchronize TV visuals with ambient lighting, the WiZ Sync Box includes a tri-segmented RGBIC lightstrip, catering to TVs ranging from 55 to 85 inches. This integration leverages Wi-Fi connectivity, eliminating the need for a separate bridge and simplifying the setup compared to Philips Hue’s Zigbee-based system.
The WiZ HDMI Sync Box supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, processing signals up to 4K at 60Hz via HDMI 2.0. While this is a step below the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 8K, which offers HDMI 2.1 support for higher resolutions and refresh rates, it remains a viable option for users prioritizing affordability without significantly compromising on visual synchronization. The device features a single HDMI input and output, allowing connection to one external device such as a streaming player or gaming console.
Users can choose from four synchronization modes: Cinematic, Vibrant, Relaxation, and Rhythmic, or opt for manual adjustments of brightness, color temperature, and saturation through the WiZ app. The app also facilitates integration with digital assistants like Amazon Alexa, enhancing control and automation capabilities. Additionally, the Sync Box detects HDMI signals to automatically activate and adjust the lighting, providing a seamless user experience.
The package is available at €89.99 for TVs between 55 and 65 inches and €109.99 for larger models between 75 and 85 inches. Optional accessories, including Gradient Light Bars and a Gradient Floor Light, are offered separately to further enhance the immersive lighting setup.
