Sony expands its ULT Power Sound lineup with the introduction of the ULT Field 3, ULT Field 5, ULT Tower 9 Bluetooth speakers, and the new ULT Mic. Building on last year’s successful launch, these new models offer enhanced audio performance and versatile connectivity options, catering to both indoor and outdoor audio enthusiasts. Each speaker in the ULT series supports Bluetooth connectivity and includes line-level or microphone inputs, enabling seamless integration with various instruments for spontaneous jam sessions.
The ULT Field 3, priced at $199, features a robust 7-band EQ and supports Sony’s Party Connect mode, allowing synchronization with other Sony wireless speakers. With up to 24 hours of playback on moderate volumes and a quick charge capability that provides 120 minutes of playtime from just a 10-minute charge, the Field 3 is designed for extended use. The ULT Field 5, available for $329, enhances the experience with a 10-band EQ, dual ULT Power Sound modes, and integrated multi-color LED lighting. Its 25-hour battery life and additional features like USB-C charging and a 3.5mm audio input make it a versatile choice for dynamic sound settings.
At the top of the lineup, the ULT Tower 9 stands out with its powerful sound output and robust build. Priced at $899 for the battery-powered version and $749 for the plug-in model, the Tower 9 boasts multiple drivers including two woofers, two midrange drivers, and four tweeters, delivering a 360-degree soundfield. Enhanced with 10-band EQ, splash-proof controls, and upgraded wheels and handle for easy transportation, the Tower 9 is engineered for large gatherings and immersive audio experiences. The addition of the dedicated Party Connect button simplifies the process of linking multiple speakers, supporting up to 100 units for expansive sound coverage.
Complementing the speaker lineup, the ULT Mic priced at $149 introduces karaoke and PA functionality to compatible Sony speakers. This kit includes two wireless microphones and a transmitter, featuring Duet Match technology that balances audio levels between different singers. Compatible with a range of ULT and older Sony models, the ULT Mic integrates seamlessly, allowing users to enjoy interactive audio performances without the need for additional equipment.
Sony has also streamlined the user experience by consolidating its mobile applications into the single “Sony | Sound Connect” app. This unified platform offers advanced features such as custom equalization and light show controls, alongside intuitive Party Mode and Pairing buttons for effortless speaker synchronization.
