The Onkyo D-202 A is a compact 2-way bookshelf speaker system that features a design aimed at delivering high-quality audio playback. It employs a MID4Concept, which focuses on a 4-octave band between 100 Hz to 2000 Hz where most vocal and instrumental sounds are concentrated. The system features a 16 cm cone type woofer that utilizes Bio-Croscorn, a composite material made from micro fiber cellulose and high latitude pulp, to achieve superior low-frequency response. To mitigate unwanted vibrations, an acoustic stabilizer is integrated into the woofer's under plate. For high frequencies, a 2.5 cm soft dome tweeter is employed, coated with a special compound to enhance its high-frequency reproduction capabilities. The speaker utilizes double magnets for cancellation, ensuring clarity and precision in sound. The design incorporates an IWN (Isolated Wired Network) to separate circuit boards and components for each speaker unit, minimizing interference. The enclosure is optimized with four round baffles that help suppress sound diffraction, improving acoustic performance and spatial sound staging. The symmetrical design aids in maintaining consistent sound quality across both left and right channels. With a playback frequency range of 40 Hz to 30 kHz, a maximum input power of 80W, and an impedance of 6 Ω, the D-202 A is capable of delivering robust sound output with a sensitivity of 89 dB/W/m. The compact dimensions of 205 mm in width, 327 mm in height, and 231 mm in depth make it suitable for limited spaces, while its weight is approximately 7.3 kg.
