Founded in 1991 by legendary audio engineer Nelson Pass in Auburn, California, Pass Labs emerged from Nelson's decades of pioneering work in amplifier design, beginning with his early career assembling loudspeakers at age 14 and co-founding Threshold Electronics in 1974. Starting in Nelson's California home, the company launched its revolutionary Aleph 0 monoblock amplifier in 1992, which was acclaimed as the 'Amplifier of the Decade' by Stereophile magazine and established Pass Labs as a leader in Class A amplifier technology. Headquartered at 13395 New Airport Road in Auburn, California, the company has grown under Nelson Pass's continued leadership and innovative circuit designs, including his groundbreaking Super-Symmetry circuit of 1998 that reduced noise and distortion.
