Sanken Microphone Co., Ltd. is a leading Japanese professional microphone manufacturer founded on October 1, 1925, by Rihei Takeuchi, initially established as "Takeuchi Factory" in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The company was officially renamed to Sanken Microphone Co., Ltd. in 1959 and is headquartered at 2-8-8 Ogikubo, Suginami-ku, Tokyo. For nearly a century, Sanken has specialized in creating high-quality professional microphones for film, television, broadcast, music recording, and live sound applications. The company has achieved significant recognition, including developing microphones for major Olympic Games (Tokyo 1964, Sapporo 1968, Nagano 1998) and receiving prestigious awards such as the AES Technical Development Prize. Sanken's products are distributed globally, with plus24 serving as their exclusive distributor for North America since 1983.
