The Sony TC-9040 is a 4-channel tape machine manufactured between 1971 and 1975 in Japan. It features a synchronized track mechanism allowing both playback monitoring and recording, making it perfect for multi-track recording sessions. The device supports a variety of tape speeds: 38 cm/s, 19 cm/s, and 9.5 cm/s. It utilizes a closed loop dual capstan system powered by an AC servo motor, ensuring stable playback and recording characteristics. The TC-9040 is equipped with a speed tuning mechanism, permitting speed adjustments of ± 5% during playback.
