Samsung Develops Ear-EEG Technology with Mind-Reading Applications

Samsung has developed a prototype earbud called the Ear-EEG that incorporates an electroencephalogram (EEG) to monitor brain activity in real-world settings.

The device uses a brain-computer interface to transmit brainwave data to applications, enabling uses in neuromarketing and entertainment with 92.86% accuracy in identifying video preferences.

Collaborative development involved Hanyang University’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, focusing on applications such as drowsiness detection and mental health management.
