PS 3000 HV

The PS 3000 HV is a supplementary mains unit specifically developed for the A 3000 HV power amplifier and the PA 3100 HV integrated amplifier. Both amplifiers deliver more than 500 watts of power into 4 ohms, providing an exceptional level of sound quality and performance. Interestingly, merely increasing the output power and voltage does not lead to a significant improvement in sound quality. Through our extensive research and development on high-performance amplifiers such as the M10 and S10, coupled with the HV design philosophy, it became clear that the stability of voltage and current provided by a mains unit plays a critical role in the sound quality of power amplifiers. It was from this understanding that we conceived the notion of a supplementary external power supply.

The innovative principle behind the PS 3000 HV operates as follows: when connected to the A 3000 HV or PA 3100 HV using the special PowerLink with M 23 high-current connectors, the internal power supply of the A 3000 HV or PA 3100 HV is tasked with supplying energy to the input stages and the high-voltage amplifier. These components require significantly lower power, which consequently reduces the interference generated within the A 3000 HV or PA 3100 HV itself. The external PS 3000 HV, on the other hand, is responsible for supplying the energy needed for the output stages, which require high currents.

With an impressive output of 1200 VA, the PS 3000 HV is considerably more powerful than the internal mains unit of the A 3000 HV or PA 3100 HV, also boasting twice the reservoir capacity. The end result of integrating the PS 3000 HV is a notable enhancement in the system's overall current delivery capacity and stability, culminating in an elevated sound performance.
