Adcom is a legendary American high-fidelity audio equipment manufacturer founded in the 1970s in New Jersey. Initially producing moving-coil phono cartridges, the company revolutionized the audio industry with its first electronic product, the groundbreaking GFA-1 power amplifier, in December 1979. Adcom achieved worldwide acclaim with the iconic GFA-555 power amplifier designed by Nelson Pass in 1985, which became legendary among audiophiles. Known for delivering exceptional performance at affordable prices, Adcom built its reputation on 'high current' amplifier designs and sophisticated craftsmanship. After facing challenges, the company was acquired by Thailand's Everest World Company Ltd., which owns the brand name and all intellectual property. In 2024, Adcom staged a successful comeback through J&B Distribution, relaunching with updated versions of their classic products while maintaining their core philosophy of producing uncompromising sound quality at accessible price points.
