Contour S 1.4 LE

The Contour S 1.4 LE is a speaker that offers more refinement and a superior design compared to its predecessors. Although compact in size, it delivers a surprisingly substantial sound with a high level of refinement and impeccable balance.

The S 1.4 LE is crafted with meticulous attention to detail and is available in several exquisite finishes: Bubinga piano lacquer, oiled Walnut, Mocca piano lacquer, and Black piano lacquer. The die-cast aluminum woofer baskets come with a matte black finish, while the metal front baffle is finished in satin black. For the high-gloss black piano lacquer version, the front is made of stainless steel, creating a striking contrast against the black cabinet.

Beauty, however, is more than skin-deep with this model. Technically refined, the Contour LE includes Dynaudio’s soft dome tweeter with Precision Coating for finely detailed high frequencies and uses high-quality OFC copper cable for internal wiring. Its crossover is enhanced with special ceramic resistors and high-quality capacitors, ensuring exceptionally pure and refined audio reproduction. The woofers feature advanced Dynaudio technology, employing MSP cones, lightweight aluminum voice coils on Kapton formers, and rigid, low-resonance die-cast aluminum baskets.

One of the most distinctive aspects of the Contour is its construction. The extremely stiff cabinet features a unique baffle made up of three layers, including a damping material layer, and a thick metal plate. This multi-layered construction significantly reduces cabinet resonance, allowing for excellent sound performance even at high volume levels. The baffle design positions the tweeter below the woofers to achieve ideal time alignment at the listening position.

For optimal performance, Dynaudio recommends the dedicated Stand 6, which features an additional S1.4 top plate. This stand offers a solid, low-resonance foundation and perfectly complements both the design and size of the Contour cabinet.

Combining the best elements of Dynaudio, the Contour S 1.4 LE showcases the finest handmade cabinet finishes from Denmark, an elegant and slim loudspeaker cabinet design, advanced driver technology, and the renowned, balanced Dynaudio sound quality. These models are available in three real-wood veneer finishes—natural oiled Walnut, and Bubinga or Mocca piano gloss lacquer—as well as in Black piano lacquer with a stainless steel baffle.
