The Heco P 2302 SL is a 3-way shelf loudspeaker manufactured by Heco between 1973 and 1978 in Germany. It features a closed cabinet design and is available in several finishes, including white (RAL 9002), graphite black (RAL 9011), and natural walnut, which was introduced in 1976. The speaker has a dimension of 220 x 360 x 190 mm (WxHxD) and weighs approximately 8 kg. The original pricing was around 350 DM, or 193 DM per piece in 1973. The speaker employs a total of three drivers: one 175 mm low-frequency driver, a 38 mm midrange dome, and a 19 mm dome tweeter, providing a power handling capability of 35 W (nominal) to 50 W (music power). Starting from 1976, the power handling was noted to be 60 W. The operating power, according to the DIN 45 500 standard at 86 dB from a 3 m distance, ranges from 0.8 to 2.5 W, with an optimal amplifier power requirement between 15 to 40 W per channel. It covers a frequency response of 40 Hz to 25 kHz, with transitional ranges at 1,100 Hz and 4,000 Hz, and presents an impedance of 4 Ohms. The recommended listening distance is between 1.5 to 4.5 meters. Its integrated wall mounting design uses hooks, allowing for a maximum wall distance of 12 mm and 14 mm hook height. The P 2302 SL is part of the Heco Professional series, tailored for studio applications, and features separate connection cables with DIN standard plugs.
