The JBL 120Ti is a bookshelf speaker system from the Ti Series, introduced around 1984. It features a 3-way, 3-speaker design with a bass reflex system. The low-frequency response is handled by a 30 cm SFG woofer, which utilizes an Aqua Plus compound cone to enhance performance. In the mid-range, a special 13 cm polypropylene cone unit (104H) offers improved synthesis due to specially formulated fillers while maintaining low internal loss. For high frequencies, the speaker is equipped with a dome tweeter (044 ti) crafted from a pure titanium diaphragm, measured at a thickness of 25 microns, which provides excellent response characteristics through advanced manufacturing techniques. The tweeter features a diamond edge pattern design, inspired by Japanese origami, along with a reinforcing rib for improved sound quality. Additionally, the speaker has a two-step switch-type level control for adjusting mid and high frequencies. The enclosure is constructed from high-density particle board with a natural finish, and a unique flooring grill structure is employed to minimize acoustic disturbances caused by the grill frame. The model specifications include a frequency response range of 35 Hz to 27 kHz at -6dB, a maximum input power of 150W (pink noise), and an impedance of 8 Ω. The crossover frequencies are set at 900 Hz and 4 kHz. The output sound pressure level measures 89 dB/W/m. Physical dimensions are 362 mm in width, 622 mm in height, and 310 mm in depth, with a total weight of 25.5 kg.
