The JBL 4307 is a middle-sized monitor designed as a versatile speaker system that inherits the design principles of JBL's Studio Monitor line. Released in December 2007, this 3-way, 3-speaker bass reflex bookshelf speaker features a combination of a 25 cm cone woofer for the low range, a 12.5 cm cone mid-range driver, and a 3.8 cm ring-type tweeter with a horn for high frequencies. The woofer utilizes a diaphragm made from unbleached, uncolored pure pulp, contributing to its natural sound characteristics and low distortion performance. The mid-range unit employs a pure pulp cone and a double pleat cross edge design to ensure smooth response and reduced strain. The tweeter is designed with tangential ribs and a dual-layer diaphragm structure to optimize high-frequency playback while minimizing distortion. Additionally, the enclosure features a bass reflex system with two ports, enhancing low-frequency playback well beyond the cabinet size. The speakers are designed with an inline layout to improve sound image localization and sound field reproducibility. The front baffle is finished in monitor blue, emblematic of its studio monitor lineage. The JBL 4307 has a frequency response range of 45 Hz to 45 kHz, an input power rating of 150W (music), and an impedance of 6 ohms, making it a capable choice for various audio applications.
