The Kenwood DM-S500 is a compact digital audio deck that was released in June 1998. It features an ATRAC version of 4.5, and employs a Kenwood MiniDisc mechanism similar to the DM-9090. This device supports various input and output options, including RCA inputs and digital optical (TOSLINK) connections. It also provides RCA output for audio playback.
