dCS has unveiled the Lina DAC X, an enhanced version of its highly acclaimed luxury DAC. Building upon the five-star reception of the original Lina DAC launched in 2022, the new model features a full-width aluminum chassis that not only elevates its aesthetic appeal but also allows for expanded connectivity options. Measuring 44cm across, the Lina DAC X offers a more substantial presence compared to the original's compact 22cm design.
The Lina DAC X retains the core technology that audiophiles have praised, including support for Hi-Res PCM up to 24-bit/384kHz and DSD128. Enhanced with dCS’s proprietary Ring DAC conversion system and unique digital processing platform, the device promises exceptional clarity and detail retrieval, delivering a natural and deeply musical sound. The inclusion of a rotary volume control and a dedicated remote handset adds to the user-friendly experience, allowing for seamless integration into high-end audio setups.
Connectivity has been significantly improved in the Lina DAC X. It now supports a broader range of streaming platforms, including the newly added QQ Music, alongside established services like TIDAL, Qobuz, and Spotify. Additionally, the DAC X accommodates various music management software such as Roon and Audirvana, and offers AirPlay 2, Internet Radio, and UPnP streaming for versatile networked audio playback. The back panel is equipped with balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs, as well as coaxial, optical, and USB (Type B and Type A) digital inputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide array of audio equipment.
Designed for longevity, the Lina DAC X boasts a flexible architecture that allows for over-the-air performance and feature updates without additional costs.
