JBL Synthesis has expanded its premium SMA Series amplifiers to the North American market, following their initial appearance at the Harman Luxury Audio Group exhibit during the 2024 CEDIA Expo. Initially released in select overseas regions, the SMA-4750 and SMA-8300 models are now available to consumers seeking high-performance audio solutions for residential custom installations.
These Class D multichannel DSP amplifiers are engineered to support large LCR, surround, and height channel configurations, as well as subwoofers in immersive JBL Synthesis audio systems. The SMA-4750 delivers 750W per channel at 8 ohms across four channels, with the option to bridge adjacent channels for up to 1,800W. In contrast, the SMA-8300 offers eight channels at 300W each, expandable to 1,200W per channel when bridged, making it ideal for more extensive multi-room setups.
Both models feature a compact, stackable design with quiet side-to-side ventilation, ensuring discreet installation in various environments. The comprehensive DSP platform includes EQ, delay, and limiters, providing precise audio tuning and system configuration flexibility. Additionally, the amplifiers support DANTE and AES67 digital audio networking, facilitating seamless integration with diverse digital audio sources.
Front panel user interfaces with status displays offer simplified control options, catering to both professional installers and end-users. The SMA Series amplifiers are equipped with balanced XLR inputs and versatile binding post speaker terminals, enabling flexible connectivity options to accommodate different speaker setups and installation requirements.
Priced at $5,000 for the SMA-4750 and $6,000 for the SMA-8300, these amplifiers are available through authorized dealers. Their release meets the growing demand for high-end home cinema and multi-room audio systems, providing audiophiles with robust amplification options to enhance their listening experiences.
