So, Jensen Speakers just rolled out something that's definitely turning heads among guitar tone enthusiasts. They've introduced the Blackbird 15/100 Signature Edition—a 15-inch guitar speaker limited to just 100 units worldwide. This isn't just another speaker; it's the culmination of over 25 years of research and development led by Raimondo Sbarbati, the founder of SICA Altoparlanti.
This beast features Jensen's exclusive "Reinforced AlNiCo" magnet design. The 15-inch cone delivers a powerful depth in the bass range, and with a 2-inch aluminum voice coil, it offers an expressive midrange and a top end that's both delicate and chimey. The dynamic range is impressive, providing that sweet, musical compression characteristic of top-tier AlNiCo speakers. It's incredibly touch-responsive and suits everything from clean, pure tones to all shades of punchy overdrive.
Each Blackbird 15/100 is hand-assembled by a specialized team at the SICA factory in Italy. The Tornado SE features a new membrane with a custom-treated surround and a large diameter dust cap dome, crucial for shaping the trebles.
