JPORTER STUDIOS unveiled the Waterloo Micro, a new addition to their bookshelf speaker lineup, at AXPONA 2025. Named in honor of the historic Battle of Waterloo, this model merges classic design with modern acoustic engineering, catering to discerning audiophiles seeking both aesthetic appeal and high-fidelity sound.
The Waterloo Micro is a closed 3-way system, measuring 235 x 279 x 330 mm and weighing 11.3 kg. It features a 1-inch ceramic tweeter, a 6-inch ceramic midrange driver, and a robust 9-inch glassfiber composite subwoofer equipped with a diffuser made from glassfiber composite. With a sensitivity rating of 90 dB, the speakers are designed to deliver clear and dynamic audio performance across a full in-room frequency response.
Constructed from Baltic birch plywood, the cabinet boasts a unique architectural design where no two panels share the same dimensions, effectively minimizing standing waves and enhancing sound clarity. The interior is reinforced with American walnut braces, contributing to the speaker's structural integrity and acoustic performance. The exterior's American walnut facets not only provide a visually striking appearance but also improve diffraction characteristics, resulting in a more immersive listening experience.
Technical specifications highlight the Waterloo Micro's commitment to excellence. The sealed 3-way design ensures ultra-linear and ultra-low distortion performance, while the compact dimensions of 9.25" x 11" x 13" make them suitable for a variety of listening environments. Protective grills are included to safeguard the delicate drivers without compromising sound quality.
Available at $5,995 per pair, the Waterloo Micro represents a significant investment for audio enthusiasts. Its combination of premium materials, advanced driver technology, and meticulous craftsmanship positions it as a formidable contender in the high-end bookshelf speaker market.
