Kali Audio has expanded its Santa Monica series with the introduction of the SM-8, an 8-inch powered studio monitor designed for critical listening environments. Featuring a three-way design, the SM-8 combines innovative acoustic engineering with professional-grade components to deliver precise performance and versatile functionality.
The SM-8 houses an 8-inch woofer, a 4-inch midrange driver, and a 1-inch metal dome tweeter, arranged within a coincident architecture. This design minimizes off-axis lobing, ensuring consistent sound dispersion and accuracy across listening positions. The midrange driver also functions as a waveguide for the tweeter, promoting a smooth transition between frequencies. The tweeter's special aluminum dome geometry is crafted to reduce ultrasonic resonances, resulting in greater clarity at higher frequencies.
