Kenko Tokina has introduced the KR-019CR, a portable cassette tape recorder that seamlessly blends retro aesthetics with modern functionality. Designed for enthusiasts who appreciate both classic and contemporary audio technologies, the KR-019CR offers the ability to play and record cassette tapes while also converting them to MP3 files.
Equipped with a 76-millimeter diffuser speaker delivering 3 watts of power, the device ensures clear and robust sound quality. Users can manage recordings and playback through physical buttons, maintaining a tactile and intuitive user experience. Additionally, a 3.5 mm audio input allows for private listening via headphones. Notably, the KR-019CR supports the recording of MP3 files directly onto cassette tapes, providing a unique bridge between analog and digital media.
The MP3 conversion feature requires a USB flash drive or memory card, which can be easily inserted into the designated ports. The device is compatible with microSDHC Class 4 to 10 cards ranging from 4 GB to 32 GB, microSDXC Class 10 cards from 64 GB to 128 GB, and USB Type-A flash drives up to 128 GB, all formatted in FAT32. This versatility ensures that users can choose their preferred storage method for transferring and storing digital audio files.
Powering the KR-019CR can be achieved either through an external power supply or by using four AA alkaline batteries, offering up to 27 hours of continuous operation on battery mode. The compact dimensions of 49 × 149 × 245 mm and a weight of 685 grams make it a portable companion for both home and on-the-go use.
Set to launch in Japan on April 18, the KR-019CR caters to audiophiles seeking a reliable and feature-rich cassette recorder. While pricing details remain undisclosed, the innovative combination of vintage design and modern MP3 conversion capabilities positions the KR-019CR as a noteworthy addition to the audio equipment market.
