10 May 2025 by Mike Danyk

The Krix UCX-218, the flagship subwoofer from Australian audio specialists, has officially launched following its initial debut at last year's Hi-Fi & AV Show in Melbourne. Weighing in at 91 kg, the UCX-218 is engineered to deliver an unprecedented bass experience starting from an astounding 10 Hz, pushing the boundaries of auditory perception.

At the core of the UCX-218 are dual 18-inch high-excursion drivers arranged in a dual-opposing configuration. This innovative setup effectively counteracts mechanical vibrations, ensuring clean and neutral bass reproduction without coloration. The subwoofer boasts a frequency response range of 10 Hz to 200 Hz, allowing it to produce both infrasound that can be felt and audible bass that enhances any audio setup.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the UCX-218 can be positioned either horizontally or vertically, making it suitable for both single and multi-subwoofer installations. Its robust sealed cabinet features a textured black finish, combining durability with a sleek aesthetic. The subwoofer is delivered in three modules, facilitating easier integration into various home theatre and professional environments.

Gary Krix, founder and CEO of Krix, emphasized the company's dedication to precision engineering and exceptional sound quality. With over five decades of experience in acoustic system development, Krix has crafted the UCX-218 to meet the high standards of home cinema enthusiasts and professional audio setups alike.

Available now through authorized Krix dealers, the UCX-218 is priced at approximately $8,700 USD. International deliveries are expected to commence in the third quarter of the year, offering audiophiles worldwide the opportunity to experience the transformative bass capabilities of the UCX-218.
